NOTE: PREVIOUS SYNOPSIS AND PROGRAM INFORMATION HAS BEEN POSTED TO FBO UNDER REFERENCE NUMBER FA8224-07-R-METL.
Opening/Closing Date: The RFP should post between 15 and 30 days after this synopsis.
Description: The Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC) Ogden Air Logistics Center (OO-ALC) authorizes, orders, stocks and consumes a large volume of metals and plastics in support of depot maintenance activities, depot commodity production, and other base or tenant requirements. Due to the multitude of vendors, purchasing systems, storage methods, and delivery systems in which this material is currently obtained, excessive delays are frequently experienced in the supply chain and have a negative impact on mission support at OO-ALC. The purpose of this acquisition is to provide on-time delivery of metals and plastics to support mission requirements. The solicitation contemplates the award of up to three contracts. The government reserves the right to award more or less contracts if in the best interests of the government. This solicitation will be 100 percent set-aside for small businesses. The contract will contain firm-fixed price contract line items. Any contracts resulting from this solicitation shall be evaluated using Price Performance Trade-off (PPT) source selection procedures set forth is AFFARs 5315.3. The contract will be a Commercial Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract, with a maximum for all contracts issued of 15 Million, which is also the program maximum. The ordering period for the contracts will be a 5 years with an option to extend the term of the contract by 6 months. Any synopses, RFPs, amendments, etc. will be provided through the GPE at http://www.fedbizopps.gov .

The purpose of this acquisition is to provide on-time delivery of metals and plastics to support mission requirements. The solicitation contemplates the award of up to three contracts. The government reserves the right to award more or less contracts if in the best interests of the government. This solicitation will be a full and open competition. The contract will contain firm-fixed price contract line items. Any contracts resulting from this solicitation shall be evaluated using Price Performance Trade-off (PPT) source selection procedures set forth is AFFARs 5315.3. SPECIAL NOTE: This acquisition was previously synopsized as a 100 percent set-aside for small business. However, due to the non-manufacturer rule found in FAR 19.102(f), it has been determined in coordination with SBA that small businesses cannot supply products of their own manufacture or that of another small business, therefore a set-aside is not appropriate.
