7. Contract description: The aim of the water resources sector support
programme in Algeria, initiated at the Algerian Government's request,
under the MEDA programme, is to contribute towards lasting satisfaction of
consumer water demand, to restore the quality image of water sector
services, to improve the suitability of the parties involved for their
assignments concerning integrated management of water resources and to
encourage saving water and safeguarding water resources and the
environment.
In this context, training activities will be held in order to strengthen
and improve the intervention capacities of the different parties involved
in the sector.
The aim of this contract is to organise the logistics (hire of rooms,
accommodation, catering, transport, etc.) of workshops and training
courses, study days and trips, seminars and conferences, etc. for
officials from the Ministry of Water Resources and executives and
personnel from establishments and bodies under supervision.
8. Maximum budget available: EUR 1 000 000.
9. Scheduled date for publication of the contract notice: December 2007.
10. Additional information: Fees, daily allowances and tickets for the
training staff are not included in this contract. They will be the
responsibility of the programme support unit as part of the procedure to
mobilise short-term experts.
