7. Contract description: The aim of the water resources sector support
programme in Algeria, initiated at the Algerian Government's request,
under the MEDA programme, is to contribute towards lasting satisfaction of
consumer water demand, to restore the quality image of water sector
services, to improve the suitability of the parties involved for their
assignments concerning integrated management of water resources and to
encourage saving water and safeguarding water resources and the
environment.
In this context, activities will be carried out with the aim of raising
awareness among citizens of water issues in the world and in Algeria, to
encourage saving water and thus safeguarding water resources and the
environment.
The aim of this contract is to draw up an inventory and review of
communication activities undertaken by the sector, draw up a communication
plan regarding water and assist the structures involved with the
implementation of this communication plan.
