| Description | The Library is seeking to establish a panel of providers for Optical Character Recognition (OCR) of Newspaper page images for the Australian Newspaper Digitisation Program (ANDP). See http://www.nla.gov.au/ndp. Related services such as content analysis are required to support online searching of articles, headlines, illustrations, advertisements and other items of interest within the individual Newspaper pages; while OCR processes will enable the production of Machine-readable text for Pages of newspaper content to enable keyword searching in an online database.
The Library may also seek to expand these processes to a wider range of text-based material such as books and journals during the term of the Deed of Standing Offer.
