Invitation for Bids (IFB)

Medium Size Intercity Compactors

1. This Invitation for Bids follows the General Procurement Notice published in dgMarket On-line on 16 February 2007 and in United Nations Development Business (UNDB) on-line on 19 February 2007 (Notice No. WB727-698/07).
2. The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan has received a loan From the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development and French Development Agency toward the cost of Regional and Local Development Project (RLDP), and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this loan to payments under the Contract for Medium size Intercity Compactors bid no. RLDP . G . ICB. 01/2008 .
3. The Cities and Villages Development Bank (CVDB) now invites sealed bids from eligible and qualified bidders for the supply of :-
(22) Medium Size Intercity Compactors .
4. Bidding will be conducted through the International Competitive Bidding (ICB) procedures specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans, and is open to all bidders from Eligible Source Countries as defined in the Guidelines.
5. Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from Cities and Villages Development Bank (CVDB) and inspect the Bidding Documents at the address given below from 8.00 am – 2.00pm., Sunday – Thursday.
6. Qualifications requirements include technical, financial and other requirements. A margin of preference for eligible national contractors shall not be applied. Details are provided in the Bidding Documents.
7. A complete set of Bidding Documents in English may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written Application to the address below and upon payment of a non refundable fee of JD (150). The method of payment will be cash or cheque to the Cities & Villages Development Bank's account no. ( 77598113 ) at the Jordan Kuwait Bank / Amman/ Shmisani Branch. The Bidding Documents will be sent by hand or mail (DHL) upon payment of mail cost JD ( 100 ) in addition to the fees of the Bidding Documents
8. Bids must be delivered to the address below at or before 12:00 noon on 22 September 2008. Electronic bidding will not be permitted. Late bids will be rejected. Bids will be opened in the presence of the bidders’ representatives who choose to attend in person at the address below at (12:00 noon on 22 September 2008 ) . All bids must be accompanied by a “Bid Security” of 2% of the total amount of financial offer in (JD ) or an equivalent amount in a freely convertible currency.
9 . The starting date for selling copies of the bidding documents ( BDs ) is 7 August 2008.
10 . The deadline for selling copies of bidding documents before 1:00 pm on 18 September 2008.
11 . The deadline for submission of queries shall be 15 September 2008.
