TITLE

Statistics Canada Resource Teacher

DESCRIPTION

Through its Education Outreach program, Statistics Canada is looking for expressions of interest for teachers to work on a contractual basis to provide workshops on how to retrieve and apply Statistics Canada's Learning resources. These workshops will include:

• How to use and apply Statistics Canada subject specific data and “Census at School” to teachers at faculties of education, conferences, math and other education groups;
• In-class statistical literacy, data management or product specific workshops to grades four to twelve (4-12) students at interested schools.

PERIOD OF CONTRACT

The period of the Contract is from September 24, 2008 to June 30, 2009 inclusive. The Contractor grants Canada an irrevocable option to extend the contract up to two (2) additional one year periods.

BUDGET

The contractor will be paid a maximum of $300 per full-day (approximately 4 hours) workshop and $150 per half-day (approximately 2 hours) workshop including professional services, travel, accommodations, meals and any miscellaneous services.

BASIS OF SELECTION

The highest rated compliant proposal will be recommended for award of a contract.

DELIVERABLES

Deliverable A: Status Reports – The contractor must provide an invoice to Statistics Canada once a month with the following information on:

a) Schools where workshops were conducted;
b) In-class teachers;
c) Number of students or workshop participants.

The Crown Reserves the Right to negotiate with suppliers on any procurement.

Documents may be submitted in either official language of Canada.
