Networks and Southern Gas Networks (SGN) wish to enter into a five year
contract with suitable, competent and experienced contractors to provide a
comprehensive range of Emergency Services.

II.2) QUANTITY OR SCOPE OF THE CONTRACT
II.2.1) Total quantity or scope: Scotland Gas Networks and Southern Gas
Networks (SGN) wish to enter into a five year contract with suitable,
competent and experienced contractors to provide a comprehensive range of
Emergency Services on the following asset groups:
Lot 1-Distribution gas mains up to 48 inch diameter operating up to 7 bar
pressure in Scotland.
Lot 2 -Transmission gas pipelines up to 48 inch diameter operating up to
85 bar pressure in Scotland.
Lot 3 -Distribution gas mains up to 48 inch diameter operating up to 7 bar
pressure in Southern England.
Lot 4 -Transmission gas mains up to 48 inch diameter operating up to 85
bar pressure in Southern England.
Tenderers can express an interest for lots 1, 2, 3 and 4, or any
combination thereof. The supplier is required to provide an on demand, 24
hour, 365 days a year service in both Scotland and Southern England. The
contract requires the supplier to be on site within 6 hours (Distribution)
or 12 hours (Transmission) of receiving the emergency call from SGN.
The supplier must have specialist plant and equipment, along with a
competent and experienced work force, readily available to undertake
emergency repairs, replacement of short sections and emergency flow
stopping of the nominated asset groups. Additionally, the supplier is
required to own or purchase and hold in stock, at their own facilities, a
pre defined and extensive range of emergency pipe and fittings in order to
support the potential on demand emergency activities for the nominated
asset group.
The tenderer will be required to:
1) Indicate which lots are of interest.
2) Demonstrate experience of working on mains & pipelines carrying a
pressurised substance, for example: provide details of similar work
experience including industry, contract value, contract period and any
added value your company bought to the contract.
3) Demonstrate capability to deliver an on demand emergency service to a
major Utility, for example: available resources,technical ability and any
other relevant information.
4)Please provide details of:

b)Annual turnover from 2005,2006 and 2007
c)Pre-Tax profit for 2005,2006 and 2007
d)What QA standards your company is certified to
e)Your documented Health and Safety Policy
