II.1.4) Short description of the contract or purchase(s): Due to the
proposed relocation of facilities to RAF Woodhall Spa in support of
Eurofighter Typhoon, there will be an increased demand on the electrical
supply. The current 11 kV supply will require upgrading. The existing
supply to the station is via overhead line to an intake sub-station to HV
switchgear. From there it is under the control of station personnel
between the intake sub-station and where it enters the camp. Requirements:
Upgrade system to the site in order to provide a capacity of 2mW at 11 kV.
From where the overhead line enters existing intake sub-station, provide
underground cable approximately 250m rated to carry 2mW capacity at 11kV
to a new intake sub-station with associated HV switchgear, control and
protection equipment.
