A: LOT 5-4-1: SUBSTATION WORKS

1. CONTRACT AWARD

CONTRACT PRICE: Four Million, Two Hundred and Six Thousand, Six Hundred and Fifty Eight Euros and Six Cents (€4,206,658.06) + Two Million, Seventy Seven Thousand, Sixty Five Ghana Cedis and Twenty One Pesewas (GH¢2,077,065.21) and a Provisional Sum of One Hundred and Fifteen Thousand United Dollars (US$115,000) + Sixty Two Thousand Ghana Cedis (GH¢62,000.00)

SCOPE OF WORKS: Design, manufacture, supply and erection as well as commissioning of facilities and remedying any defects at the following sites:
(a) Accra East Substation
 Installation of 2No. 161/34.5kV, 50/66MVA Power Transformers and 2No. 34.5/0.433-0.25kV, 250kVA Grounding/Auxiliary Transformers
 Balance of plant made up of 161kV circuit breakers, 161kV disconnects, 161kV CTs and 161kV CVT, post insulators, gantries.
 Protection, control and metering equipment and all the relevant accessories for the transformers and lines.
 Auxiliary power equipment including battery bank, DC and AC main distribution and 150kVA, stand-by generator
 Associated civil works including the construction of control building, foundations and boundary works such as fencing and storm drains.
(b) Achimota Substation Extension
 Provision of 161kV dead tank circuit breakers, 161kV disconnects, 161kV CTs and CVTs, 161kV post insulators, 161kV gantries and buswork.
 Protection, control and metering equipment complete with all the relevant accessories for the lines and other equipment.
 Extension of the control room building and the associated civil works for the above equipment.
c). Communications and SCADA Systems
 Supply and installation of teleprotection, fibre optic telecommunications systems and PLC equipment at the Accra East Substation.
 Upgrade and provision of SCADA facilities at the Substations and integration at the System Control Centre at Volta Substation.

COMPLETION PERIOD: Nineteen (19) months

SCOPE OF WORKS: Design, manufacture, supply and erection as well as commissioning of facilities and remedying any defects at the following sites:
 Design and supply of 5 No. double circuit and 10 No. single circuit dead end angle towers
 Supply of AAC (LILAC) conductor, ADSS fibre, Fog type U100BP glass insulators, line hardwares and fittings.
 Rehabilitation of existing towers, conductors, shieldwires and accessories prior to stringing and improving upon existing tower access routes.
 Decommissioning of one set of existing line terminal equipments on the Akosombo – Volta line and protection system and one (1No.) double circuit suspension type tower near the Volta Substation.
 Stringing of the unstrung arm of the double circuit tower from Volta substation to Achimota substation and breaking into existing OPGW fibre cable and termination in the Control Room.
