NAICS Code: 334516 This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, in conjunction with and as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This solicitation is issued under RFQ-PA-08-00016. Thisannouncement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for the acquisition of one portable hand-held XRF Environmental Metals Analyzer with the following equipment options: Soil Test Stand for in situ Testing, Docking Test Stand for Benchtop Operation, Holster. Background and Statement of NeedThe instrument will be used as a field screening tool to identify areas of potential contamination or sample locations. By detecting various compound/metals or lack of these contaminates-the agency saves significant analytical (lab) costs by the field inspector eliminating unnecessary samples. Specifications for Handheld Analyzer must performs the following functions:--Must provide handheld field alloy analyzing capabilities--Must be capable of analyzing the following standard elements in soil: Ti, Cr, Mn Fe, Ni, Cu, Zn, As, Se, Rb, Sr, Zr, Mo, Ag,Cd, Sn, Sb, Ba, Hg, Pb, U, Co, Sc, Ca, K, Cl, S, P, I. --Must be capable to perform soil calibration for environmental assessments and metals in soils and sediments analysis at concentrations generally <2%. Pricing: Provide separate pricing for: Soil Test Stand for in situ Testing, Docking Test Stand for Benchtop Operation, Holster, Shipping Charges. Award will be based on lowest price quote meeting the technical requirements set forth above. This solicitation and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 05-26.
