RFP-FQ7100 Contract No. FQ7100 Automatic Train Control (ATC) equipment replacement at the Silver Spring The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (Authority) is soliciting proposals for RFP-FQ7100 for the design and construction/installation services for the replacement of the Automatic Train Control(ATC) equipment at the Silver Spring Station located in Montgomery County, Maryland. This is a negotiated �Best Value� procurement. The contractor through itself or/and others is required to provide all project management, design and field engineering, quality control/quality assurance duties, and all construction and installation labor, equipment, and materials for the solicited work. Work elements include, but are not limited to providing two new, completely engineered, completely installed, fully functional, Train Control Rooms (TCR�s) that will replace the current in service TCR. Together these two new TCR�s will provide the same functions as the current operating TCR. The current operating TCR will be removed from service when the two new TCR�s are placed in service and safety certified. The contractor shall provide the total design of the two TCR�s to include but not limited to the TCR house design, foundation design, power requirements, detailed plan and method of TCR field installation, and identify any impacts to WMATA system. Estimated cost range is between $10M to $15M. Work to be completed within 790 Calendar Days after NTP. Contract documents will be available o/a September 5, 2008 for a fee of $50.00 and must be purchased with a Company�s check or money order by calling (202) 269-4575 extension 231 or 246 or fax (202) or by visiting the Authority�s Plans Room, 900 Franklin St. NE., Wash.
