Council has appointed an organisation to be a Host organisation to a Local
Involvement Network (LINk).
Following the Local Government and Public Involvement in Health Act 2007,
LINks are to be set up in each local authority area with the purpose of
promoting and supporting the involvement of local people in the
commissioning, provision and scrutiny of local health and social care
services.
The LINk Host will be responsible for undertaking the establishment of the
LINk and the subsequent provision of support to the LINk in carrying out
its activities. The outcomes expected of the LINk Host will be to: (i) set
up the LINk (this includes establishing membership, processes,
relationships and structures that enable the LINk to receive and represent
views from Southwark's diverse community); (ii) provide advice and support
for/to the LINk in the development, promotion and communication of its
priorities, workplan and subsequent activities; (iii) utilise strategic
partnerships and working relationships with other organisations to
facilitate the effective working of the LINk; (iv) maintain the financial
administration, data management and record keeping of the LINk; and (v)
meet the performance monitoring, reporting and other arrangements required
in the contract.
