REQUIREMENT SUMMARY
To execute the work described in Specification number
R.012891.001 in accordance with the plans available on the
Government Electronic Tendering Service (MERX) for viewing,
which form part of the Invitation to Tender, by supplying all
necessary tools, plant, services, materials and labour in a
careful and workmanlike manner.

Work includes: Construction of Central Registry area and upgrade
of existing Records rooms located in two seperate buildings.
Includes construction of interior partitions, provision of
mailboxes, mobile shelving system, upgrade of mechanical,
electrical and communication systems.

ESTIMATED PROJECT COST:
The estimated cost for this requirement is within the following
cost category: between $800,000.00 to $900,000.00 including GST.

COMPLETION OF WORK:
The project shall be completed within Thirty (30) Weeks from the
date of award.

Bids transmitted electronically will be considered non-compliant
and will not be evaluated.

BID AND CONTRACT SECURITY:
Bid and Contract Security as described in the Invitation to
Tender Documents shall be required.






SITE VISIT, NOTICE
Unique site conditions and other aspects of this project are
such that the Department considers attendance at the optional
pre-tender site meeting to be extremely important. Access may
be restricted to authorized employees of the Government of
Canada and personnel who have received prior authorization to
enter the work site. Bidders must provide in writing to the
Contracting Authority, the name(s) and phone number(s) of its
representatives who will be attending the Site Visit no less
than three (3) working days prior to the Site Visit. Bidder's
Representatives must be prepared to produce picture
identification to gain entry and at any time when requested to
do so by any of Canada's personnel. Cellular telephones and
pagers are not permitted at the Site Visit. Canada will not be
responsible for the Bidder's failure to attend the Site Visit
due to the Bidder not being granted access because they did not
meet these conditions.

GENERAL INFORMATION:
Firms intending to submit tenders on this project should obtain
tender documents through the MERX services provider. Tender
documents will be available for viewing only, at the Kingston
Construction Association.

Drawings and Specifications are now available for viewing and
downloading in a Portable Document Format (PDF) or in a standard
paper version. Tenderers should note that Attachment 1 (ATT 1)
contains the Drawings and Specifications Package (DSP) which
consists of PDF files organized in an industry recognized
directory structure.

Addenda, when issued, will be available from the MERX provider.
Firms that elect to base their bids on tender documents obtained
from other sources do so at their own risk and will be solely
responsible to inform the tender calling authority of their
intention to bid. In all cases bidders must sign all addenda, if
any, that they have taken into consideration for their bid.

Standard terms and conditions for this procurement are
incorporated by reference, and form part of the tender and
contract documents. The standard documents are issued by Public
Works and Government Services and may be viewed on the MERX
electronic bulletin board as part of the information module.

The Crown retains the right to negotiate with suppliers on any
procurement.

Documents may be submitted in either official language of Canada.
