Georgia has intended to apply for additional financing from the World Bank towards the costs of the Secondary and Local Roads-Additional Financing Project and intends to apply part of the proceeds to payments for goods, works, and related services and consulting services to be procured under this project which will be jointly financed by the Government of Georgia.

The Roads Department of the Ministry of Economic Development of Georgia (RDMED) now invites eligible consultants to express their interest in providing the following services: “Supervision of the road rehabilitation works, and preparation of detailed design, and bidding documentation for Secondary and Local Roads”. This project consists of supervising the rehabilitation of some 400 km of secondary and local roads throughout Georgia, as well as preparing the detailed designs and bidding documents for rehabilitation of up to 100 km of the secondary and local roads. Interested companies shall provide information demonstrating that they are experienced enough to perform supervision of works as well as detailed design, and CVs of the personnel, who will supposedly be involved in supervision and detailed design process and have relevant qualification and experience. Expression of Interest should not be more than 30 pages. Pages in excess of 30 may not be evaluated. Company brochure may be included as an Annex, and will not be affected by the limit of 30 pages. Consultants may form sub-consultancy to enhance their qualifications. Expression of interest should cover, but not limited to: Experience relevant to the project activities, key staff resources and qualification, corporate profile.

A consultant will be selected in accordance with the procedures set out in “Quality and Cost-based Selection” section II of the World Bank’s Guidelines: Selection and Employment of Consultants by World Bank Borrowers (May 2004 edition).
